Conical filters are used to intercept mechanical impurities in liquid- or gas-conveying pipelines. They are typically used as pump protection barriers.

The filters comprise a cone made of perforated sheet metal, protected from the outside by means of a chromium-nickel steel mesh. The cone base is provided with a base ring with a handle to facilitate mounting the filter in pipelines.
